Jul 26, 2016 · My research would indicate the "S" prefix series of the K Frame Post War M&Ps were started sometime in 1945 or 1946 and ended when the “C” prefix series started in March 1948. The first serial number was S 811,120 and the last was S 999,999. Which means that 188,879 S&W M&Ps were manufactured with the “S” prefix. . 50s men
